General service description

IP-Plus BusinessMail is a service option for IP-Plus customers not having their own mail server infrastructure and therefore need the functionality of a virtual mail server. IP-Plus BusinessMail allows the customer to send/receive E-Mails to/from the Internet using the standard Internet protocols SMTP, POP3 and IMAP4. These protocols are supported by most modern E-Mail clients (Microsoft Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger etc.). Through a highly automated, easy to use interface, the ordering and set-up of IP-Plus BusinessMail is done by the customer and IP-Plus BusinessMail is ready to use within one working day.

 

Features IP-Plus BusinessMail

The following features are now available for you with the new IP-Plus BusinessMail offer:

  • A fixed number of mailboxes for your own domain name (name@yourdomain.ch / .com / .org etc.)
  • New: 100 MB hard disk space per mailbox (previously 40 MB)
  • New: Up to 1 GB additional mail quota for all mailboxes belonging to a mail domain
  • New: Free access to your personal mailbox via WebMail (worldwide access to your mails using a web browser)
  • New: Ability to send faxes and SMS messages via WebMail
  • New: Can be combined with the Virus & Spam filter option
  • Domain Name Mapping
  • 100 MB diskspace per mailbox
  • Mailbox administration panel (create, delete mailboxes for the users etc.)

Features option Virus & Spam Filter

  • Protection against harmful and/or unwanted content in your mailbox on the IP-Plus BusinessMail infrastructure

Server infrastructure

IP-Plus BusinessMail runs on state of the art UNIX servers that are connected directly to the IP-Plus backbone. This infrastructure stands for high availability and high performance which assures reliable mail transport.

 

Customer Support

Problems encountered with IP-Plus BusinessMail can be reported 7 days / 24 hours to Customer Support (CSU). The support is provided from Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 18:00.

Order

The IP-Plus customer can order IP-Plus BusinessMail on My.IP-Plus using his username/password for IP-Plus service options. After having placed an order, the customer will receive a fax message indicating the necessary parameters to set-up the mailboxes for the users. Upgrading or downgrading the number of mailboxes is possible by placing a new order for the requested number of mailboxes.
