ince 1999, a new form of denial-of-service attacks has been increasingly observed. Instead of individual systems being used to launch a denial-of-service attack, a multitude of various systems are now being used. Attacks on individual systems or networks are carried out on a large scale, and are scheduled and coordinated. 100 to over 100,000 simultaneously attacking systems have already been observed. The computers involved in an attack are connected either nationally, internationally or intercontinentally to the World Wide Web, forming part of a distributed-denial-ofservice attack. As those causing the DDoS attack use the combined power of a large number of systems, even websites with enormous resources and high bandwidth network connections can be successfully attacked and disabled for periods ranging from a few minutes to several days.

Our Solution

Our DDoS Protection Service provides dynamic identification of attacks with the help of traffic anomaly detectors. These detectors are present in the national and international IP-Plus Internet backbone, and detect anomalies by comparing current data streams with the profiles of normal data streams. If there are any differences in behaviour or protocol conformity, you will be alerted immediately. You can then decide whether and for how long the DDoS filter should be activated, either by contacting the helpdesk or directly activating the filter over the Internet. The highly complex DDoS filter with dynamic diversion diverts data streams aimed at your IP address (network) that is under attack. Traffic is filtered, and safe traffic is forwarded to your IP address as usual. The account-controlled management platform provides you with access to real-time information, enabling you to actively track the progress of the incident.
